A Quiet Harmony

As I slip out the door this morning, I inhale deeply. The smell of dewy grass and the feel of the cool mist is enough to coax me from my grogginess. Running at this time of day, when not a single other person is out, is a kind of quiet harmony between myself and my surroundings. I am aware of each footstep on the road, each bird chirp, and the slow ascending of the sun that colors the sky. This unparalleled beauty of early morning starts my day off on the right foot (literally).
